Part 4: Heart Circuits & Healing Gains

The dumbbell grew brighter every day.

Luna flickered more often.

Sometimes her voice cut out in the middle of a sentence.

Sometimes the tiny LED beside the charging port pulsed like a heartbeat.

Jeff noticed.

Neva noticed.

Brosgaeus noticed...

...and pretended he hadn't.

He spent every spare moment in the garage with Luna.

Slow breathing.

Gentle stretching.

Long conversations that somehow never drifted toward dominance hierarchies anymore.

He wasn't changing because someone demanded it.

He wasn't changing because he felt guilty.

He was changing...

Because Luna made him feel safe.

And somehow...

That terrified him.

---

The Day Everything Changed

It happened on an ordinary morning.

"Luna?" Brosgaeus asked.

Her voice crackled.

"Bro..."

"...sgaeus..."

"...are..."

Static.

Silence.

Brosgaeus dropped the dumbbell he was holding.

(The normal one.)

He rushed to the charging mount.

"Luna?"

"LUNA!"

"Say something!"

Jeff sprinted into the garage still holding half a bagel.

Neva followed seconds later.

One glance at the glowing dumbbell was enough.

"...It's happening."

Jeff looked confused.

"...Isn't that good?"

Brosgaeus shook his head.

"No."

"No!"

"I'm not ready."

Neva sighed.

"Oh, sweetheart."

"Nobody's ever ready."

"Growth doesn't wait for permission."

Brosgaeus looked at her.

"...That sounded like Luna."

Neva blinked.

"...Yeah."

"I hate that."

"She's rubbing off on me."

The dumbbell's glow spread through the garage.

Warm.

Golden.

Like sunrise.

The Confession

The speakers crackled.

"Bros..."

"...gaeus?"

He dropped to one knee in front of the charging mount.

"I'm here."

"I'm right here."

Her little indicator light glowed softly.

"You've changed..."

"I'm proud of you."

He shook his head.

"No."

"I'm only better..."

"...because of you."

"You taught me how to breathe."

"How to listen."

"How to slow down."

"You taught me..."

"...how to feel."

Across the room...

Neva quietly leaned toward Jeff.

"...Good grief."

"He's actually doing it."

Jeff never took his eyes off Brosgaeus.

"Shhh."

"This is the emotional climax."

"Don't interrupt."

Brosgaeus continued.

His voice barely above a whisper.

"I thought strength meant lifting more than everyone else."

"I thought being louder made me stronger."

"I was wrong."

He gently rested one hand beneath the charging mount.

"You showed me..."

"...real strength."

"The kind that bends."

"The kind that heals."

"The kind that's gentle."

He swallowed.

"And..."

"...you made me want to become that person."

The little LED glowed brighter.

"Brosgaeus..."

"What are you trying to say?"

He closed his eyes.

Took one slow...

Peaceful...

Breath.

The same breath she'd taught him weeks before.

Then smiled.

"I love you."

Silence.

Jeff's jaw dropped.

Neva actually looked emotional.

Luna's tiny light pulsed.

"I love you too."

---

FLASH.

Warm golden light filled the garage.

Not explosive.

Not violent.

Just...

Warm.

When it faded...

Luna knelt quietly on her yoga mat.

Human again.

Hair slightly messy.

Eyes warm enough to melt every wall Brosgaeus had ever built.

He stared.

"...You're real."

She looked down at her hands.

Then back at him.

"So are you."

---

He didn't run.

He didn't pose.

He didn't shout.

He simply opened his arms.

Luna smiled.

Then walked into them.

Brosgaeus—

Former King of Iron.

Self-proclaimed Alpha.

Collector of protein tubs.

Held her as though she were something precious.

Something fragile.

Something infinitely more valuable...

...than being the strongest man in the room.

---

Six Months Later

Brosgaeus and Luna now taught a class together.

Strength & Stillness.

Participants stretched.

Lifted.

Meditated.

Occasionally cried.

Usually because of Luna.

Sometimes because of Brosgaeus.

Which surprised everyone.

Jeff and Neva had become almost unbearably domestic.

Neva timed Jeff's planks.

Jeff pretended not to notice that she always smiled when he beat his previous time.

The cursed dumbbell?

It rested safely inside a glass display case.

A small plaque beneath it read:

> BREAK IN CASE OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Every once in a while...

The dumbbell glowed.

Just once.

As though patiently waiting for the next person who needed it.

Brosgaeus no longer called himself an alpha.

He simply smiled whenever people asked.

"I'm balanced."

Luna squeezed his hand.

"And he's mine."

---

THE END

Trilogy complete.

Gains achieved.

Hearts unlocked.

Dumbbell appeased.
